Move List:
cr.MK - Sliding attack, comes out fast and low.
b.MP - AA normal, hits cross-ups with lenient timing.

Zonk Knuckle (ZK) - Chargeable. Has upper body invul. EX is full invul.
Ruffian Kick (RK) - ABs and varies between H/M/L. EX comes out quicker.
Criminal Upper (CU) - BnB combo ender. EX has invul frames.
Bad Stone (BS) - Projectile. Can be charged (more damage). EX hits twice.
Fake Bad Stone (FBS) - Bait move, looks like Bad Stone but nothing is thrown.
Bad Spray (BSR) - Tech move, hits people on wake-up.

Dead End Irony (S) - Rush super. FADC-able from RK.
Final Destruction (U1) - Rush ultra, FADC comboable with RK and ABs.
Last Dread Dust (U2) - Projectile ultra, used mostly vs. projectiles.

Preferred Ultra: Soulless/Breathless
Cody's BS is pretty much locked out by his ultras since the start-up is immense. Being able to pressure him well also means that you'll eventually land that FADC combo into Soulless pretty easy. Breathless isn't as useful raw since Cody can armor break pretty easy with RK but it can still be a very useful tool in this match-up to catch him on his recovery moves or in the air.

Strategy:
You want to be staying out of his RK range most of time but you're going to need to get there to land a fwd.MK. He's pretty slow himself so quick dash ins, rolls or what not actually work pretty well. Watch for bad stone and roll through them with LK roll so that even if its a Fake Stone, you're pretty much recovered.

Cody has great pokes to knock you down with (RK) or get close (slide kick, step kick clone) so he can come in on you pretty easy. He has a good pressure game himself so you'll need to be on your toes on defense. As usual, block and watch for the out. Tech gets you the space you need and he doesn't have many other tricky offensive moves apart from cross-ups and maybe his overhead.

Abel on offense can keep up the pressure well on Cody. Keep it to the ground as Cody can counter jump-ins with his b.MP. Also use more light strings to avoid getting hit by ZK as it takes 16 frames for it to come out. On knockdown, Cody is pretty much free for cross-ups so abuse that.

Flipside:
- Fighting Abel is all about zoning him.
- Step kick is pretty similar to Cody's s.MK. However, Abel has a distinct advantage because the reward he gets for connecting a step kick (even on block) is much bigger then the small damage Cody deals on a successful s.MK.
- If Cody has an opportunity to pick up the Knife it can give him a nice edge in the poking war, and even surprisingly help him escape pressure. Abel has no real answer for knife s.MP and c.MP in terms of pokes,
- The Knife's 3f c.LP will be faster then anything Abel can do, and he will have to resort to EX TT if he wants to beat it.
- Bad stone: although it cannot be abused Abel must still respect it because incorrectly reacting to a Fake Stone should give Cody a knockdown, either through anti-airing a jump, or punishing a roll.
- c.MK (7 active frames) and s.HK (5 active frames) are good choices to ensure the punish on rolls are not mistimed.
- Once Abel gets (either) ultra, Bad Stones become basically unusable, because even a Fake Stone is slow enough (30f) to be punished with an ultra on reaction.
- If Cody feels the need to reversal, EX CU is fully throw invincible until the hitting frame (7), and also has 4f of strike invincibility starting on frame 1. This makes it almost ideal for fighting Abel, because it will beat any TT, but also any likely normal
- When Cody gets Abel knocked down, he can actually pressure Abel extremely well, especially on his wakeup.

Notes:
- MP/HP CU are not safe on block but LP and EX version are.
- ZK on block at max range can be punished with st.LK but if done too close can be punished with cr.MK/cr.MP.
- RK is not safe on block and can be punished.
