Abel's Link Combos

Close cr.LP > st.MP xx COD
Doing cr.LP gives you an extra half second or so to hit confirm into a st.MP COD combo. The link is relatively easy.

Close cr.LP > st.HP xx COD
Same as the above, but with the added disadvantage of whiffing on crouching opponents.

fwd.MK >> st.HP >> COD
Link for his forward kick. This is a 1 frame link making it one of the hardest links to do consistently.

cr.LP xx cr.LP xx cr.LP > far st.MP
Quick and easy combo-to-link, deals decent damage and comes out fast. Far st.MP whiffs on crouching opponents. Sets up for mix-up opportunities (e.g. tick tornado throw).

COD xx FADC > cr.HP (2-hits)
Abel's baddest combo starting off his COD. You can follow up with the FADC from any COD combos or even off a raw COD. You can follow up with any of the cr.HP combos as well. The timing for the cr.HP link isn't tight but may need some practice.

Close st.LP xx cr.LK xx st.LP > st.LP > fwd.MK
Saw Sako doing this combo here. Looks hard though.

Close st.HK (on crouching) > far st.MP xx Heartless
Adds damage to your overhead attack. If you have super meter, you can even cancel it into Heartless.

Abel's cr.HP Combos

Croucing HP (2-hits) > HP Falling Sky
Good damage combo off the cr.HP. Falling sky sets up for a nice ambiguous mix-up with the roll after.

Crouching HP (2-hits) xx LK Marseilles Roll xx LP/MP Falling Sky
The roll in between is unnecessary to do the combo but it adds meter for free. You could still connect the HP Falling Sky but its a tight link.

Crouching HP (2-hit) > Soulless
BnB ultra combo. Timing to hit the ultra is not tight and very do-able with practice.

Crouching HP (2nd hit only) > Soulless
Anti-air ultra combo. Timing to hit the Soulless is different than the ground juggle to ultra but can be done easily once you've practiced the timing.

Crouching HP (2-hit) xx LK Marseilles Roll > Heartless
I don't use this much as I'd rather save my super meter for FADC and EX moves but if this lets you win the round by all means use it.

Crouching HP (2-hit) xx LK Marseilles Roll > Crouching HP xx Marseilles Roll
A reset combo off the juggle. Use if you feel greedy as it could net you a lot more damage. The 2nd roll sets up an ambiguous cross-up after the juggle.

Abel Standard Combos

Here's a list of Abel's standard BnBs which I find most useful. Some of them can be mixed with one another or with other specials like his Roll but I'll leave it to you to come up with those.

" xx " denotes cancels
" > " denotes links
" >> " denotes following up with the next move

Close st.HP xx COD
Good damage, BnB combo. 1st hit of st.HP whiffs on crouching opponents.

Close st.MP xx COD
Another standard BnB combo. Using st.MP is quicker and hits crouching opponents as well, but does slightly less damage.

cr.MP xx COD
Gives a bit more range than st.MP if the opponent is further away. Also helps solve (or create?) execution issues.

cr.MK xx COD
Slightly further range than cr.MP. Cr.MK has slightly longer active frames which can catch many people off guard on wake-up but is slower on start-up.

Close st.MK xx COD
Same as all the rest but less applications in real matches afaik.
