vs Dee Jay

Statistics:
Stamina: 1,000
Stun: 1,000
Fighting Style: Kickboxing
Fighter Type: Defensive

vs Dee Jay: 4 - 6
Pros: None.
Cons: Good reversal, good normals, solid defense game

IMO this match-up is very difficult for Abel. Dee Jay's anti cross-up and close game is so tight Abel has real difficulties even on knockdown to get his game going.

Move List:
Air Slasher (AS) - Fast recovery charge projectile. EX launches two projectiles.
Double Rolling Sobat (DRS) - Armor break move that has almost no recovery frames. EX goes through projectiles.
Jacknife Maximum (JM) - AA move, fast recovery and auto corrects. EX has more invul and more damage.
Machinegun Upper (MU) - Juggle move, links into Ultra or whatever stuff. Good combo

Sobat Carnival (S) - Rush attack that deals decent damage for a super.
Sobat Festival (U1) - Similar to his super, a rush ultra dealing good damage.
Climax Beat (U2) - Combos with MU, good damage.

Preferred Ultra: Soulless
You need to get as much damage in as you can, when you can so Soulless seems like a good choice to add damage when you manage to land the FADC combo. Goes through fireballs too.

Strategy:
Abel, who needs to get close to do his thing, doesn't really have issues getting up close with roll/FADC or what not to get in. Dee Jay up close is a real issue. Dee Jay holding down back charge is just plain insane. Focusing becomes unusable as Double Sobat breaks armor and is really quick so he can just launch on reaction. Cross-ups don't work either as Jacknife just snipes you from the air and even if it goes the wrong way, he's pretty much safe. His normal string is easy to do and just pushes you far far away, giving him time to back off or just go back to his down back charge stance. Hard to break, seriously.

The few things that seem to work is the simple stuff, like fwd.MK. It then resolves into the usual mix-up game from fwd.MK, either he AA's or throws or just blocks. Not a bad place to be in anyway, so this is probably your best friend here.

Flipside:
Dee Jay plays like a different version of Guile. He plays the projectile game very well with good normals to back it up. On top of that, his ground game up close is very decent with plenty of safe moves. This gives him an overall obnoxiously good defensive game.
